SUMMARY
The Field Engineer isresponsible for performing engineering activities in the field under thesupervision of the Engineering Manager, Project Manager and/or GeneralManager. This includes technical andengineering support of field work as well as office generated reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides technical capabilities for testing relays,circuit breakers, transformers, motor control equipment, and related switchgearin the field, including synch check and point-to-point.
Supports the sales effort by assisting with laborestimates and job walks when necessary.
Remains current on all safety and technical training.
Performs updates to client electrical drawings includingone lines, diagrams and schematics.
Collects field data and perform arc flash studies,coordination studies and short circuit analysis.
Provides technical insight regarding substation systemsand electrical power systems.
Adheres to all company safety, industry and clientprotocol and standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The position is considered tohave light physical demands that require the incumbent to communicate orally,hear at a conversational level and perform job tasks requiring the use of atelephone, fax, and computer.
While performing the duties ofthis job, the employee be required to perform keying functions, grasp and pinchto write. The employee will frequently(34-66% of the workday) be required to sit, walk and stand. Occasionally (6-33% of the workday), theemployee will be required to bend, twist/turn, reach out, lift/carry and pushand pull. The employee infrequently(2-5% of the workday) will be required to squat/kneel and climb. The employee is required to infrequently(2-5% of the workday) lift and carry up to 21-50 pounds and will frequently(34-66% of the workday) be required to lift and carry 11 to 20 pounds.
WORKENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties ofthis job, the employee is regularly subject to various job siteenvironments. The flooring is mostlyconcrete, tile or wood. The temperaturesat the customer locations can vary between 20-100 degrees. The use of safety equipment can includesafety shoes and glasses, hard hat and other job specific personal protectiveequipment. The noise level of the workenvironment can vary from low to high (requiring hearing protection). Travel requirements will make it necessary todrive a car (day and/or night) and at times fly in an airplane. This position can require up to 80% travel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Minimum 2-5 years related experience in powerdistribution and substations.
Reasoning Development: Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form;deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
Mathematical Development: Ability to add, subtract, and divide all units of measure.
Language Development: Ability to read company manuals and reports, workplace rules andprocedures; speak with poise and confidence, using correct English.
Education: BSEE, BSME, EET.
